Just dropped (more like flew to ground) my new Lenovo T400s laptop. Because it has a SSD, I escaped with no issues. Damn, I LOVE THIS THING. Built like a tank. Anyone who buys a HP/Dell is a pussy.

I get a pretty decent discount with them through work but know nothing about them...

Do they make any netbook/tablets that I can use as a remote control for my TV?

IBM / Lenovo is the only way to go for laptops..

My 4 year old 3000 N100 is still going strong, and it has a great, crisp 1680x1050 display.

Still holds about a 45 min charge on the original battery too.

Great laptop.

I've dropped my X61T twice. Both times its caused minor damage (lid switch, loose battery), but it's a nice laptop none the less.

This is why I tell people to buy Levnovo's, but they always say something like "They are too ugly". Fast forward two years and they are asking me how to fix broken laptop hinges

I ran over my Dell laptop with my car, and it still gets over 10 hours of battery life. It's built like a flying fortress. It even has ramparts.

One time I left my dell laptop sitting on the roof of my car, screen open and everything. I was going down the backroads, so I wasn't going too fast. Out of nowhere a deer crosses the road and I slam on the brakes. The laptop flew off the top of my car and it hit the deer, bounched off, and rolled under my car. (I didn't hit the deer) My car ran over it and the laptop bounched around under my car a little. Still gets 10hours of battery life.

If it was a Mac, it would have bounced back into your hand, and then promptly made you a sandwich. Not just any sandwich, but a sandwich with the correct amount of Meat/Mayo ratio.

I just noticed there was a bit of slight damage. The LCD housing seems to of separated slightly where both sides join the enclosure. I just had to snap it closed (like closing a zip lock bag). But, and this is very annoying, the lid won't lock into place when closed. Thank god I got the 3 year depot service. They will send me a box on Monday for me to overnight the laptop back to them. Then I will get on Wed. BTW, they are VERY liberal in what they will repair under warranty. The only exception is LCD damage. Forget it on that.

But, thank god I have a laptop with no moving parts. Though the DVD rom drive popped out when it his the floor. That was the only moving thing ;-)
