Laptop RAM

My laptop currently has PC2700 DDR333 RAM. I am looking to get another stick. I checked Crucial's site, and they recommend PC2700 RAM in my system. I have seen a number of deals on DDR2 RAM.

I know that RAM is backwards compatible in most cases. I am unsure though if the actual pin allignment for DDR2 PC2-4200 would work in my system? Would DDR2 PC2-4200 be backwards compatible, making it compatible with my laptop?

DDR2 is not backwards compatible with DDR memory slots. You should use either PC3200 or PC2700 200-pin SODIMM's

Also, you may want to check to make sure that your laptop motherboard actually supports pc3200. In many cases the maximum supported speed is pc2700, with the exception of newer notebooks.
