this work in a Compaq Presario 1247 ?

its a AMD k6-2/400 i think.
with 32+64=96
i think i want 32+128=160

crucial.com says it take a max orf 160 mb.

possible to exceed the 160 mb limit?

If the CPU is only an AMD k6-2/400, then you can't use this RAM. You will need PC100 or PC133. PC2100 is DDR RAM.

You might be able to put more in, but it will only recognise 160MB if that is what it says.

IF you are very lucky, there may have been a BIOS update for your Compaq that would enable it to take 192MB
