Laptop questions

Someone said they'd give me their 150Mhz Gateway laptop since it has a problem with the screen connector. I think they tried to get one from Gateway but couldn't. Is that something that can be bought? Or is there someone that can make one?

Also will a 150Mhz run one of the map software titles, and a GPS? That's the only thing I want to use it for. How much would a GPS be?

Try the laptop salvage parts dealers like www.partsolver.com or www.impactcomputers.com. I have been using a DeLorme GPS for years with an old 166Mhz. Sony laptop and it works just fine.

If it has no USB, is all I need (besides software) to do GPS, something like this, this, or this? Is this what you have?


Edit: It does have USB afterall. It's a Gateway 2000 Solo 2300, 150Mhz MMX. Need to get a screen cable somehow.
