i'm getting ready to frormat my laptop. And was just wondering if windows 98 has all the drivers (default)? I'll update to the newest drivers, but just wondering.

I wouldn't be suprised if you at least need video and audio drivers. I've messed with a lot of laptops and I don't remember one that had anything but basic VGA support from Win98. 2000/XP are much better at this.

I'd go get drivers from the manufacturer's website before you format.
 
Yeah, download ALL the drivers you'll need ahead of time, burn them on a CD if you can, that way if windoze asks for them you have 'em.

BTW, if you mean does windows have enough drivers to start from scratch, the answer is usually yes. I have yet to see where it doesn't have the ability to get installed, but after it's installed it'll ask for drivers if it doesn't have them.
