Laptop question: I get power no vid

I booted up my laptop and smelled this burning. I got no video after that. Either white or black screen. I opened it up but the video gpu didnt looked burned. Anyone know what it could be?

i don't know what happened, but the people want all the info you have and can give about your laptop when they answer, did you try to hook up an external monitor?

Problem:

I turn it on and the LCD brightens but nothing comes on to it (Also, it looks like the bottom left side looks darker). After a minute or so I hear 2 beeps. Thats all I know. The gpu is soldered on to the MB, doesnt have a daughter board. I hear the fans and HD power on and the battery gets charged. Ask me any other questions if I didn't give you enough info.

Also, it boots into windows and I was able to play a music cd without the vid. still need help tho.

It sounds like either the video card went, or the video controller. Either way you are SOL. Maybe try contacting the manufacturer for an RMA.
