laptop question, about Hard Drive specs??

my hd in my toshiba satellite 1400 died. does it matter if my current DEAD hard drive was ATA-5 and a 2MB buffer and that the new hard drive i bought is ATA-6 and a 8MB buffer?

ATA 6 it backward compatible
and the 8Mb cache will give you a speed boost.
