laptop problems

these are my laptop's specs

Alienware Area-51m
P4 3.2ghz
1gig ram
60gig HD
Radeon 9700 pro
DVD-RW

my friend has a 2.8ghz computer with the same video card, and it outperforms my computer in just about every game.

For most games I play, during the cutscenes, the audio and the video are out of sync and the audio stutters every 30 seconds or so. When I play Grim Fandango, the audio and video stutters and jerks so bad, it takes forever to watch the cutscenes.

does anyone know why my laptop is doing this? like every single game I play, the cutscenes are messed up somehow.

Here are the things you might look out for:

- ad-aware
- trojans/viruses
- defragmentation
- Taskmanager, make sure not so much background processes are taking up your cpu/memory
- Cleaning up, incase there are dust bunnies building up inside the components of your laptop
