laptop problem

Has anyone ever worked on a laptop that had a harddrive that didn't have a flap to pull it out with? This harddrive is just sitting in it's slot mocking me, with no way for me to get at it 🙁

Would be helpful if you gave us a little more info like brand/model of laptop you are working on.

Brand shouldn't matter, I'm just curious if anyone has tips on getting the harddrive out.

might be under the keyboard, hiding under the floppy/pcmica/audio ports. Some of them you have to take it apart.

Maybe so but if you told us then maybe we can tell you specifically how to get it out. Have you tried popping the keyboard out? Maybe it comes out that way.

I've worked on a few laptops like that. Rubberized needlenose pliers (or even just regular needlenose covered in plastic wrap to avoid shock/scratches on the drive) pulled the drive out of the system just fine.
