Laptop problem - MS Word 2003

Hi,

Hope everyone is ok. I have a problem with my laptop, it is a:

Fujitsu Siemens
40GB Hard Drive
1.5GHz
112MB RAM
Windows XP Professional
Intel Celeron

I keep getting the following error message when using MS Word 2003:

"Microsoft Word 2003 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem."

I have tried reinstalling Word 2003, I have updated Word 2003, I have tried Word 2000, I have re-installed XP professional. Does anyone know what could be causing this error message to keep popping up?

The laptop is also very slow, when it is rebooted it takes five to ten minutes to load up to a state so I can begin using it.

All help very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Mo

I'm gonna guess and say it needs more ram. I thought XP required min of 256mb
to install. XP might be using so much that there isn't much left over for your other
programs.

But the amount of ram you have is definitely why it takes so long to boot/restart.

I agree. XP is extremely slow with less than 256 Mb of RAM. I recommand a RAM upgrade, or using Windows 2k instead.
