I carry my computer all over the place all day, and I never "turn it off." Hibernating is the way to go!

Many times laptops have trouble waking back up from sleep/standby/hibernate mode. If I'm using my laptop and just walking over to a meeting room or somethign like that, I just leave it on. I set the switch so when I shut the lid it doesn't do anything so when I open it back up it's right there. When I leave for the day I turn it off.

it's not a very good idea to leave a laptop in stand-by when you're carrying it around in its case. although they do produce far less heat than when on, they still do produce heat and rely on natural airflow to keep the CPU cool. they get next to no air when you put them away.

I leave mine off or in hibernate mode when not using the laptop. Who wants to pay for wasted electricity?

When I'm not using it, I shut it down. When I close it up and take it say, to another room in my house, I have it set to do nothing when the lid closes. So it stays on.
