Laptop PCMCIA and motherboard problems

Ok I bought a laptop about a year ago from alienware. Anyway basically they want me to pay $440 for a new motherboard because the PCMCIA connector attached to it broke off. The actual PCMCIA connector works but the plastic supports/brackets(whatever they are called) eithe bent or cracked so I cant line up a PCMCIA card with it. They said its my fault because I broke it and it will not be covered under warranty. I didnt break it. It was faulty and the intense heat produced by this laptop probably weakened its durability. They say the only way to fix this problem is to replace the whole motherboard.

The motherboard I have in there is a Intel 845MP+ICH3MCHIPSET FC-PGA 478PIN. Thats straight from the sale receipt. Anyway I was looking at laptop motherboard prices and although I didnt find a price for the motherboard im looking for...still $440 seems very high compared to other motherboards especially since this laptop is a year old. I was wondering if anyone knows a place where I can get this motherboard cheap and installed or knows a place that will offer a cheaper repair solution.....like not replacing the entire motherboard just for the PCMCIA slot. I am deseperate guys...any help is appreciated.
