Laptop part question

I sent my powerbook g4 in for warranty service becasue it was running super hot, even for a power book. When I got it back, it says they replaced this part:

PCBA,MLB,1.3GHZ

Does anyone know what that is or what it does?

MLB means main logic board (I know this because this broke in my iBook, too). I don't know what it does exactly, but if it fails you normally get this symptoms:

- the monitor flickers or display content goes wrong row-wise
- the monitor remains black
- the computer is unable to boot at all

So it has to be important 😉 Never heard about heat as a symptom though.

its the notebook version of a desktops motherboard. plus some, as most everything is intergrated. Plus the 1.3 Ghz CPU.

iow, 90% of the things guts.
