I have two bags. One is a professional bag with a shoulder strap with a padded pocket for a laptop. This I use when meeting with clients and bringing my laptops. The other think I have a backpack. It has a padded laptop section also but on the outside it looks just like a normal backpack. I use this when traveling. I think it's a tad bit less likely someone will steal the backpack (since they probably won't know a laptop is in it) than the laptop bag.

No idea on price/performance. The backpack I picked up at Best Buy in their laptop section. The shoulder bag was a gift.

And just wondering, what do u guys use/recommend for good price/performanace ratio...

i.e. brand, price, features, etc..

You don't really want to skimp on price. The new Targus backpacks (no link, I'm lazy) are absolutly incredible. They're pretty much like the old ones (light, tons of pockets) but actuially big enough to hold books now.

I feel uneasy with laptop backpacks, especially Targus ones which are so blatantly labaled. It's like "Hey steal me! This is a laptop backpack!"

I would've gotten a Samsonite one but I already had a fairly new regular backpack so I just picked up a Jansport laptop sleeve. Works great.

My gf got me a Swiss laptop bag... It's pretty good, nothing special though... It's not as obvious as some of the other laptop bags...

depends. to/from work, I have an eddie bauer laptop bag. pretty sturdy. if I'm around town or traveling, though, I carry it in a regular backpack.

I don't see how you can go wrong at that price.

I have a normal targus laptop briefcase for when I take it by itself, otherwise I just use my normal jansport backpack and am careful with it.

I've got two bags that I use for my laptop. I've got a Targus bag that I use when I'm taking my laptop to work or any place else where I want to have more cushioning (and be able to bring my external drives and junk). Otherwise, I just use an old Nike backpack that I've got running around the house.

Samsonite leather bag I got for Christmas for more "dressed up" occasions like meetings, etc. But for normal use, a really old back pack works fine, and it doesn't scream steal me like virtually all laptop bags seem to.

I hide mine where no one would ever look... My ass.

In reality I have a cheap Targus bag. $50 or something like that. Plenty of room for everything I need to fit in there so it works for me.

I use a targus and it fits my 12" Apple perfectly. I dunno how you could fit a bigger one, though.

i use my backpack or ANY bag. my laptop is small. I don't want to use a laptop bag, it is calling attention to theft.
