if I get a notebook, what kind of notebook should i get?

Best cost for an MSFT OS, I would say OEM WinXP Home or Pro depends on what you plan to do with it.

NewEgg has WinXP Home for $93. Must be purchased with a piece of hardware, $5.00 rinky dinky mouse will cut it.

You would have thought that you would need to purchase a PC with an OEM copy of XP really...or at least a hard drive or something....they have become really easy on OEM software recently.

I mean I bought a case and a camera dock with an OEM copy of XP....yes thats right....I am going to install XP onto the dock and then put it in my new case....voila.

p.s: could you rephrase your original question, i'm not sure I understand....there is no difference between a desktop and laptop OS.
