Laptop opinions

Compaq R3000Z vs. HP ZV5000Z. They're the exact same laptop configuration, different shells.

Specs as configured:
XP Home (I have a stack of Pro licenses, I'll use one of those)
A64 3000+
15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
64mb GF4 440 Go
Firewire
2x256mb DDR
40gb HDD (To be augmented by a gloriously awesome system that I've devised to power 3.5" HDD enclosures, more info after I buy)
DVD/CDRW combo drive
802.11b/g
A pair of 12-cell Lithiums (6600mAH each)
No additional removable storage
MS Money (I have to get one of those gimpy software packages, may as well take the cheapest)
1-year limited warranty (I intend to fix my own problems and don't abuse my sh!t)
This manpurse.
$1250 for either HP or Compaq.

They look similar one is silver and the other is black-ish.

The compaq looks "cheaper" IMO in person.... Plus, i like the rounded edge on the front on the HP, more comfortable for your wrists...

Also, does anyone know how long it takes to CHARGE one of those 12-cells? I know that between the two of them, I'll get the neccessary amount of daily runtime, but at the end of the day, have two dead batteries.

I may have to forego the big laptop batteries and build some 7.2AH SLA's into the bag which I can charge an infinite number of overnight (the external HDD's will be charged by 7.2AH SLA battery packs)

Heavy, but, well, what chicks find guys that are "prepared" sexy (haha, I'm kidding myself, aren't I?)

I personally don't like the silver styling of the Compaq's, I like the darker colors of the HP.

In regards to the 12-cell, my gf has it on her dv1000 and I would have to estimate it at 3 hours. Keep in mind that it charges very quickly from a low level to the mid 80%, then the charge rate is reduced so as not to damage the battery.
