Thanks for looking. This is basically a what is best for me post, but I think it's a little complex.

While I've been using a Dell TrueMobile 1150 PCMCIA (Orinoco/Agere) with much success in various laptops I recently got a Toshiba TE2100 from work. I understand this model has the ability to use an internal Mini PCI card, so I've been doing some research but now have more questions than answers. First, I assume the mini PCI will yield the best range/performance because of the laptops built-in antenna (feel free to comment). I'd consider a USB option is there was good reason.

My solution must support VPN. Next priority is range (since that's what WiFi is all about). While the bottom line is what's best, I would like to know if I should care about CCX (Cisco Compatible Extensions), the "Atheros super G chipset", and 802.11a.

As far as AP, I'm currently using a Netgear MR814 v1 (I also have a v2), but was considering upgrading to a Linksys WRT54G or WRT54GS. Other considerations are the need to VPN and Xbox Live.

Right now I'm thinking the Dell 1350. Thanks for your comments...

I suspect it does as the v1 does. I don't know how many VPNs it allows, some only support one, but that's all I need to work from home. I'll check during the work week and upadte this post.
