Alright I've narrowed my choices to 4 notebooks. They are the:

Sony S460
Acer Travelmate 8100
Acer Travelmate 3000
Asus W3V

First of all, as long as the notebook is under $2k I'm fine. Second I want a pentium m system. Next my priority is wieght then power. Out of these 4 I like the asus W3V the best so far. Only thing that bugs me is the lack of a higher res screen and a DVI port. The Acer 8100 has everything I want, but hte 6.2 lb wieght might be a little much. I'm going to have to go into a bestbuy to check that wieght out. The travelmate 3000 is nice, but hte small screen lack of cd-drive and gfx make it iffy. And finally the sony is perfect except for again a higher res screen/dvi and bluetooth. Help!

First, where can you go to a Best Buy and check out an Acer 8100?

Second, I really think the Asus is the way to go. Asus builds awesome laptops, the X600 graphics are one of the best u can get in such a small notebook, and I hear their support is good as well. Take a look at http://www.proportable.com for Asus products

The Acer's are great quality machines. The 8100 is particularly nice, with lots of great features. Read our full review here:

The 3000 looks to be a good machine. Downside is integrated graphics, but that won't make a big diff unless you plan on playing games. A powerful discrete graphics card (i.e. X600 or X700) might be of value if in the future you want to use Longhorn on this machine as the hardware accelerated interface will really need a decent GPU to have all the eye candy turned on.

The Sony S-series is nice, and stylish, but I see no reason to pay a premium for Sony when Asus and Acer have all the quality & features and then some.

Oh, thanks for the quick response! By "check the wieght out" I meant just grab a notebook that wieghts 6.2 lbs and see if it's too much for me. After reading your review I get the inpression that the screen isn't exactly on par with others because of it being transreflective. So would I have issues with it if I were to use it at a park under the sun?
