Okay people, I need your help. I'm looking for an inexpensive laptop for a father's day gift. Here are the bare minimum specs...:

700 mHZ
64 MB RAM (128 preferred)
10 GB HDD (More is always better)
Floppy drive
DVD Drive
10/100 Network Port

I found one that was perfect (It was a sony with the model number ending in 210, but I can't remember past that). It had a 14.1 TFT display, 128 MB RAM, 10 GB disk, and even a video out. The only problem was it was 1500. I would like to find a laptop out there with these specs that is around 1200. I would also like it to have some kind of warranty on it.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I'd really appreciate it if somebody can provide some info on where to get a really inexpensive one.

Thanks.

What about a laptop for a dad who wants Word and AOL? He's using his WIZARD (pre-palm) for now, but would get a laptop if he could find one for <$400. I'm thinking even a 200mhz would suit him fine. (I know, that's blasphemy on these boards.) :)

I'm in the market also. I think this laptop may be okay. I can't find alot of info on it though. It's made by KDS.

Here's the basic specs:
P3 800Mhz
128 MB RAM
20 GB Hard Drive
DVD drive
56K modem

$1149 at computers4sure.com

P.S. - If anyone has any info on these machines, I'd appreciate it. I've searched the forums and found very little.

I've been Eye-balling this one. It's $89.00 more than you were looking to spend, but you get a PIII 800/128MB/20gb HD/8xDVD/14.1'' TFT/W2K. Their monitors are pretty good but I just don't know much about their computers.
