laptop not running at full FSB capacity?

Hi, i recently bought an Acer 5601. The FSB of the processor should be at 533, but I ran a program that tests everything on your computer and I got:

Main Circuit Board:
Board: Acer, Inc. Bodensee2
Serial Number: LXAB10J00562905D942500
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Acer v0.3122 06/23/06

Now, I normally wouldnt care, but this laptop runs slower than I think it should with everything. Is it just saying 133hz because I am not running applications, and its on that to save battery life? I have everything (performance wise) set to max on the Acer power/management setup.

Thanks

What program are you using? For checking processor speeds, I'd stick with the cpuid-type program (many different incarnations).

If you're using an all-in-one program like everest, you can't be sure about the results. I've got some pretty strange specs myself, especially when it said I had 2 9800p-aiw's with a total of 1gb vid mem (I wish).

Also, laptops are always slower than a similar desktop, to save battery time. If you just don't think the system responds too smoothly, try adjusting XP's visual options in the system properties. I generally disable all but visual styles and icon label drop-shadows (if you have a wallpaper) on every computer I touch, and the users always rave at how I 'tuned' it up.

Dumb question . . . are you plugged into AC power?

If you are on battery power, it automatically goes into a reduced power mode.
