Laptop not booting

I tried to clean up my friends laptop but after I've disassembled and cleaned it; It no longer boots in fact it doesn't even show bios or anything.

The laptop is a Compaq CQ57. When I press power the only thing that happens is the Ethernet port blinks briefly. The speaker inside for booting never worked i don't think.

I don't know how to fix it. Can i get suggestions on the steps I should try.

You may have fried the mother board. I'm not sure.

You can retrieve data from the hard drive with a PATA or SATA to USB adapter.

You may have pinched a wire.

I took it apart again and didn't find anything odd but It's working now.

Cool. I'm glad you didn't give up and assume you fried it, lol.

Likely had the inverter plugged in backwards.. easy to do and will prevent post..
