well I just bought my first laptop ever few days back and it finally arrived!
Now my question is, since I bought it from Dell it came w/ a lot of junk on it already. I tend to leave my system w/ the bare minimum number of programs on my desktop and I was wondering if it would be ok to reformat the HDD (thinking of trashing this 5400 RPM HDD and buying a 7200 anyways ^^) and reinstalling
windows xp. Will that give me any performance boost or is it just a waste of my time?
Also are there any good laptop specific programs that is a must have?
One more question: I will be taking this laptop to school w/ me and I was wondering if there are any notetaking programs out there? And by saying "note taking" program I mean programs that help me write notes, not a program that takes the notes for me, if such programs exist. And if so (I'm sure there are tons) which one is best?
