laptop noob help please

hi, i just got my laptop "acer 5601" it came with 512 ram, was wondering if i would notice a difference if i add a 1gig stick into it or would another 512 be good enough



heres the spec:
t2250 1.7g core duo
512 pc4200
100g hd
945 chipset
gma 950 integrated video

More is better, but whether another 512MB is enough depends on what you're using it for really.

on the other hand, if he's only using it for Word, 512mb is enough.

well , I went with the extra 1gig of ocz pc4200. I"ll just be doing the basics, but i figured I can max the gma memory to 244mb and still have that extra 1gig to run vista when its available.

If money was not an issue, getting the gig was a good idea because too much ram cannot hurt inless you don't have enough disk space for hibernation...
