laptop noob help please

hi, i just got my laptop "acer 5601" it came with 512 ram, was wondering if i would notice a difference if i add a 1gig stick into it or would another 512 be good enough



heres the spec:
t2250 1.7g core duo
512 pc4200
100g hd
945 chipset
gma 950 integrated video

well , I went with the extra 1gig of ocz pc4200. I"ll just be doing the basics, but i figured I can max the gma memory to 244mb and still have that extra 1gig to run vista when its available.
 
If money was not an issue, getting the gig was a good idea because too much ram cannot hurt inless you don't have enough disk space for hibernation...
