Thanks to current events it looks like my daughter will be doing distance learning for the remainder of the school year. She's been using my old relic off-brand, 10+ year old Turion x2 powered college laptop for the last couple weeks and it looks like its finally time to put the old boy out to pasture.

I saw the Coda Spirit $100 (Sale, $250 reg) netbook review on Anandtech a couple weeks ago. I'd just pick up the Coda Spirit but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere in the US.

Is there another solid 14" netbook\laptop with some upgradability (have a 512GB SATA M2 Drive sitting around doing nothing) that anyone can recommend in the sub-$300 price range? This thing would basically be doing Google Classrooms, Zoom Meetings, and various web-based learning programs.

I really would like to avoid specifically *Chromebooks* since a windows platform would offer more freedom, but if you feel there is a killer recommendation there for this use case I'll take it.
