I'm looking for a source for laptop (or other very small) motherboards. Not for a specific manufacturer's replacement mobo, just for something that I could use to build a small custom board-level system. Any help?

What are you trying to do with it? Laptop motherboards are almost always fully proprietary with special requirements for processors, cooling, power and expansion that are not generally available to the end user.

If you wanted a very small motherboard, perhaps you should look at purchasing a FlexATX case and motherboard. FlexATX is the smallest form factor for a desktop system. I suggest you look at the ASUS CUSI-FX motherboard as a starting point.

Thanks... I've looked at Flex ATX, but was hoping to find something smaller for embedded use. I know that laptop stuff is generally proprietary (and expensive, and difficult to get parts for, etc.), and so that probably is not the best way to go in order to make a very small system... So instead I am now looking at some tiny single-board systems from advantech.com (and the tiny cases and power supplies that go with them). Or perhaps some other manufacturer with a "brick" system...
