Laptop motherboard problem possibly.

I have a Compaq Armada E500 laptop. The plastic things that support the screen were cracked, and compaq replaced the screen. When the computer was returned to me, it was extremely unstable. Nothing I could do would fix it. I returned it to compaq, and they replaced the motherboard. The computer was very stable when I turned it on, and it worked fine for the entire day. I turned it off, upgraded the ram, and rebooted, and it was horribly unstable once again. It is worse than before. It only posts about 50% of the time, the rest of the time, it will post and boot up successfully, but crashes within the first few minutes of use. Sometimes the crash is a blue screen of death, sometimes it restarts, and sometimes it just completely freezes up. I don't think that the problem is the ram, since I have tested the ram in another laptop and it works. Any ideas/suggestions? There must be SOME reason why the motherboard keeps dying, if that really is the problem.

Did they use your exsisting hard drive setup?

If so, that could be the reason for the instability.
Unless they changed the board with the exact same revision number (doubtful)
and the same BIOS version, you would have issues with hardware.

If you haven't done it, you may want Backup your Data and use the Restore disk.
