Laptop motherboard bad?

I've got a Dell Latitude C640, upon installing video drivers for its mobility radeon 7500, I get a BSOD when rebooting. I can go back into XP in safe mode, or regular mode if I uninstall the drivers. I thought maybe the drivers were the culprit, so I got a different version, but the same thing happens. Then, I thought maybe the video card was bad, so I managed to get a hold of a parts machine and replaced the video card. Still same problem.

Think it's the motherboard that's bad?

I would try a clean Windows install, possibly on a different Hard Drive.

It might be a conflict of the Video Driver with some other drivers/software.

Are you sure you are using the proper chipset Drivers...? Maybe the video driver is good for the GPU only, but not for the combination with the chipset...?

Is the Video Driver downloaded from Dell...? I would try that first...

Good luck!

Clean install twice, no other software loaded, and the latest chipset drivers are installed. Got it all from the Dell website.

Oh weird, I got the parts machine to boot up with a good battery, RAM, and the hard drive from my machine. Works...it's too bad the AC jack on this parts system is bad or I'd just transplant everything...
