Laptop Monitor

Girl at work asked me this question today. I don't think it is possible.

She wants to use her laptop and the monitor to her PC. Is this possible with a special cable or something?

Most if not all laptops have a VGA out port somewhere, some do require a special cable, others have a normal VGA connector. I'd look at the laptop to check. Its not very difficult to do, just check external monitor\second monitor in the graphics display properties.

You can use the desktop monitor as a monitor for your laptop

You cannot use the laptop's LCD as a monitor for your desktop.

What exactly are you asking here? Are you asking if she can use her PC monitor on her laptop? Probably, all the laptops i've had have had a VGA output.

Or are you asking if she can use her laptop screen on her PC? if this is the question, yes, but you'll need a controller... which costs about $300 anyways (and require you to take apart the screen from the notebook), so you may as well buy a LCD monitor.
