Laptop memory ?

I bought Kingston value Ram model # KVR333X64SC25/1G at Newegg.com. The Toshiba A75 won't recognize it. I called Toshiba they say I need Kingston KTT33111G. They both have the same specs, but the KTT is twice as much.

At first Toshiba said it might be a bad slot. Should the KVR work?

I have owned several laptops that were very picky with memory brands and chips. Same goes for Desktops.... So, yes it could be the memory and yes, it could be a bad slot. Odds are on the memory though! There are several memory retailers like Corsair and Crucial which have online guides to find compatible memory....

Some laptops are picky.

Did you try swapping slots and re-seating the RAM? Is your other RAM in there too? Remove the old RAM if so and try new RAM only, in both slots. Play with all possibly diff configs before you give up
