Laptop losing its BIOS

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 205CDS. I've been using it to transfer files between two machines one in my office and one at home. A couple of times after bringing the laptop home, I've turned it on and gotten a message saying to insert the BIOS upgrade disk.

Why is this happening?

You most likely have a stuck "F12" key. I wouldn't recommend removing the keys on that keyboard though, they are hard to remove and will probably break in the process. You could remove the keyboard though and see if the metal on the bottom of the keyboard is bent upward near the "F12" key. You may have to replace the keyboard.
