Ok first of all im new to the community here. Ive visited here before when looking to solve problem and searched and stumbled here. So im glad to finally become part of this and will put my two cents in w/e i can help.

Now to my problem.

Ive had this laptop for a little over a year. Maybe 13-14 months id have to estimate. I was at one point having a heating issue but i have resolved that. Now it is deciding to lock-up on me at random times. Ive ran Memtest, Prime95, and benchmarking programs and nothing seems to find a problem with either memory or processor. At one point i thought maybe it was the video drivers but ive been using them for awhile and there hasnt been any problems. So i reformatted and reinstalled and only had Windows, Omega video Drivers, Norton AV, a spyware program and Peer Gaurdian installed and it still locked up randomly.

Hopefully that was enough for someone to help out in any way they can because i REALLY dont want to send it to get repaired, i would like to be able to fix it myself but like i said ive ran tests and nothing shows up as a problem but i know there must be somewhere.

My Specs

P4 3.0 Ghz HT
1256 RAM
128 Radeon IGP 9100
60 Gig Toshiba
XP Pro SP2

Anything else that needs to be known to further aid in fixing let me know and i will happily provide the information. Thank you very much in advance for any information provided in helping to fix this thing.

My guess if it's random is the processor fan maybe not be turning on properly for speedstepping and such. I'm not sure yours has that option, but at least it's a shot:)

You feel like an idiot?? I just reread my post and I didn't make any sense! I must tired. If your memory is good and it runs prime, etc and you have no viruses or spyware your best bet is to send it in. There really aren't any standards for laptops other than some hardware; fans, PSU and motherboards are very specific to the company and they will be the ones to have the replacement parts for it. Hope you have it still under warrenty.
