laptop LCD question

I've got an old cpx series Latitude.. 5 years old maybe? - the display in comparison to my T-42 is ghastly but I'm not sure how much of that can be blamed on advances in technology or just normal wear & tear. - My guess is an LCD display should be good past the life of the processor.

It also depends on the screen and the hours of usage it has had. At work, we have around 50 Thinkpad T22's most of which screens still are in very good shape. We also had older Dell Latitude C-series notebooks (C610s and C810/840s) some screens got dimmer than others but we ended up replacing them when their leases expired anyway so I dunno past that. The best answer is "your mileage may vary"
