I sent my HP laptop back, since the signal for the LCD would deteriorate everytime i angled the screen a bit or something like that.

Anyways I got it back, and they ended up replacing both the screen and motherboard.

It works good except for one thing, it seems like the screen is off center by about 3MM up and down, theres a 3mm "edge" at the bottom right below the start menu and the top edge is 3mm under the bezel.

The pixels on the edge aren't affected at all, and otherwise it works perfectly.

Now the color of the edge at the bottom takes on whatever color the bottom right most pixel is, so normally its a blue from the XP start menu...but if i move the pointer down there, it turns white or black...same color as the pointer pixel thats there, and it overlaps anything on the screen.

this happens in any OS, game or whatever, happens in linux too and in any bios menu or such.

Now I'm wondering what would cause this? I'm thinking when they installed the LCD they misaligned something.

I'm thinking about sending it back to HP again for them to fix this since it's almost out of warranty.

Laptop is a ZE4100 w/14" XGA screen.

Any Ideas?
