Hello,
I have the eMachines m6809 and I'm posting here so non-m6xxx users can read it as well.
Are you guys experiencing some flicker effect on your LCDs? The LCD flickers from on/off for a couple of seconds; it doesn't flicker from dim to bright though. I usually see it when I open the LCD/laptop "clam shell" when the laptop is still running.
Also, when I press the brightness button (Fn+F8), the brightness loops, as in it gets to maximum brightness and goes back to the minimum brightness right after the maximum settings....sometimes it doesn't even go up to the maximum settings before it loops back down.
Finally, I am thinking of sending back the m6809, but, I live in Canada and I bought the laptop in Portland, OR at a BestBuy with the extended warranty. Cracked hinge, only three rubber feet, and flickering LCD. I am not sure if the local Futureshop acknowledges the extended warranty fully and I don't know if I can get a new m6809 since it has been discontinued. Maybe I can trade it for an m811? Anyone knows?
Thanks.
Pardon the lengthy post.
