Hi, my laptop (a Sony Vaio F Series with a very cheap nvidia Geforce 310M graphic card) has been lagging / freezing every 5 to 10 second since last week regardless of what I'm doing (watching youtube video, googling or simply just moving the mouse curser around). The situation started after I played one of the Guildwars 2 stress tests during which I was messing with the graphic settings in game to see how much my computer could handle. After about 2 hours into the game with medium settings and only 15 to 20 fps, my computer crashed and started a "blue" screen with messages showing that I just experienced a system crash. After the restart, everything I do with the computer will lag every 5 to 10 seconds for like 1 to 2 seconds. I suspect that my graphic card might have been cooked or hard disk might have been damanged but I have no way to confirm. Can anyone please give me some guidance as to at least diagnose what is going on? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Ok, in rough levels of increasing difficulty:

1) Download ProcessExplorer and use it too track any CPU spikes (hardware interrupts would point to a driver for example).
2) Try either of these two latency checkers: DPC Latency Checker or LatencyMon
3) Try a Linux Live CD and see if the spikes occur there too (in which case it's most likely hardware or some BIOS setting)
4) If the Linux Live CD doesn't show anything you can install a copy of Linux on your hard disk (careful with the partitioning) or a flash drive and actually install the GPU drivers
5) Partition your hard disks and install a second copy of Windows with all your hardware drivers.
