wow, did a froogle for a 254114-001 and the cheapest that came up was 40ish dollars.. it that the standard price for keyboards?

That isn't a bad price if you really want to know. I have payed over 60 for a customers before.

The HP dv1000 series 14" screen costs $1300 to replace. The laptop is $1700.

$40 is pretty cheap for any laptop repair!

yes....ask the company you bought your laptop from....they will charge 3 times that amount.
