I was gaming on my laptop and all of a sudden the screen blanks out and I see the message that it is going into hibernate. Afterwards the screen goes dark and the computer shut off. Afterwards I'm unable to turn it on. When I press the power button a light come on in the front and flashing in the front and nothing happens. I tried taking the battery out and plugging it AC and it still no effect except now there aren't any lights either. Tried it with batery only and it is the same. I got it from Bestbuy so does anyone know how I should go about fixing this or who I should contact and what I can do. This laptop was purchased in december 03.

Try buying a new charger and then connect it to the laptop. The charger may have gone bad and in effect the battery is low on juice.

This happened to me on a Gateway Solo laptop as well. Once I got the new charger in, the laptop started to work after being charged.

Are you using the RAM slot on the bottom side of the laptop? If so, check to make sure the RAM did not become loose.

Edit: I've owned an HP ZT3000 (same as Compaq X1000) since Janiary and it's been flawless. (*Knocks on wood*)
