when i power up my laptop, the power LED lights up but monitor stays blank, no HDD activity or any activity whatsoever. i figured it was the motherboard. dell shipped me a replacement motherboard, whic hi stuck in. no luck.

is it the CPU? what othe rproblems could it be?
where there is NO activity whatsoever?
 
inspiron 5100.
tried removing HDD, same issue. also tried running of AC adapter no battery, same deal
