Aright, bit of history first.

I bought this laptop Jan 30th it's an ASUS X83VP-A1 and for the most part it's a dream for the price I paid. It runs smoothly, doesn't overheat (I know this isn't the issues as I've been monitoring it and logging temps), and plays plenty of the games I play.

I've RMA'd this twice for the same issue. It only happens when I'm playing movies. I'll be watching a movie in VLC and the screen will go blank, the sound plays for a second or two more then it shuts itself down and then reboots. Obviously I get the screen saying Windows was not shut down properly yada yada.

The first RMA the motherboard was replaced and when they sent it back to me it was missing 2GB of RAM. I called them back, they refused to ship the stick of RAM only so I could put it in the notebook. A monkey could do it...

Between the first and second RMA it again shut down during videos. Now this does't happen right away but say I watch 3-4 episodes of an hour long TV show. That's when it happens.

The Event Viewer has logged the error and this is what it says...

As you can see they happened nearly at the same time.

This continues to happen, does this mean I should just do a fresh install and ditch the OEM copy of Windows 7?
