Now, using E explorer, key in 'System information"

Your version of this will appear:

Then, on the left, hit "Video"......you will see how much video ram you have:

how full is the harddrive? Reason for asking, alot of people don't mess with the default settings from the factory. This results in a ridiculous setting of the System Restore writing restore files to the harddrive on a predefined basis. If the end user doesn't go in and alter these settings, the harddrive could fill up pretty fast. (Resulting in a sluggish system).

Thought I would throw that out there. Just replaced my gfriend's harddrive from her computer that has the same specs as yours, and it's still speedy as hell. Especially now that she has a 750gb hybrid ssd.

SSD drive has 160GB free (total 200G)

I removed and replaced the RAM stick, and this solved the problem!
I now have 2810MB of RAM in taskmgr. Laptop is working great.

Hmm, unfortunately I have absolutely no clue what you're trying to say.
Was there a typo? "E explorer" ?
How can I open that window you posted?

I bought a 4G stick. SO, now I have 2GB+4GB=6GB installed.
BIOS sees 6GB installed.

Resmon shows 2GB of RAM is "Hardware Reserved"

Last time, I fixed this by simply re-seating the RAM
Now, this doesn't work. Any ideas what to do?

I can not mess with the BIOS on this F'ing HP, NOT an option.
