Laptop is Fugged up

Last night, I fell asleep watching a Top Gear on my laptop. This morning I wake up, grab the laptop and it says that a Font won't load and to run chkdsk.

I open the cmd prompt and run chkdsk from within Windows (Vista Home Premium). No errors. I don't have time to deal with it, so I launch Winamp and surf the web for a few minutes before hitting the shower.

Tonight, I'm surfing and listening to winamp when I remember that I need to work on the laptop. So, I reboot and it goes into a screen saying that it will check my disk drive. I'm assuming this is chkdsk.

After that finishes, it reboots (I didn't see this happen, I was doing laundry at the time, so I don't know if it displayed any type of message), I log in and I start getting errors from programs trying to load. No program that I launch will load, they all are broken shortcuts. So, I open the C: drive and low and behold, my Program Files folder is gone.

So, I try to launch system restore, error, run chkdsk. Fuck.

Okay, is my disk drive fucked? Should I just wipe it and reload all my software? What can I do?

I'm hitting the road tomorrow for vacation and it will suck if I have to spend all tonight rebuilding my laptop. 🙁

Help!

Yeah, but it probably ain't the only thing... 😉

Before reloading anything, I'd run diagnostics on the memory and on the hard drive. You don't want to spend time reloading everything, only to have it happen again the next day.
