laptop is driving me NUTZ

My laptop is driving me nuts.

I am at work all day long hooked up to wired and/or wireless is I want.
It runs like a champ.. perfect.

Once I get it home and turn on my wireless connection it is SOOOOO slow.
Browser takes for ever just to open. Folders / Control Panel / I can click on three items and the pc will sit there for 2min and all of a sudden bring up all 3 superfast.

I have banged my head on the wall -- services -- software etc.. I cant make ryme or reason out of it. I have logged into my PC on the cached domain and as local admin and the same thing happens if my wireless is turned on

Any suggestions ?

so if you turn your wireless off at home, your computer runs full steam? No slowdowns to open applications?

at work I am using wep data enc with secure certificate to connect to the wireless
at home I am pretty much open '

Try these two:
1. Remove the work profile
2. Remove driver and card, and try a card from a different vendor

actually, card isn't built in, it's a card...

I don't understand why just having it on would slow the PC down. Turn off your router, and leave the card on, and see if the PC is slow. Perhaps you have lots of wireless networks, and it's overwhelming your client?

what do you mean it's a card? I can't remove it unless I take the laptop apart ad void my warranty.
There is only 1 other wireless network around that I can hit. Im not joking though. If I turn on the wireless card my applications are at a snail pace.... even opening control panel etc..

the problem is, that makes no sense whatsover. Try turning your router off and see if it's the same....

Most cards (such as Dell's) it's one screw, and doesn't void the warranty (first thing I did with my dell was swap for an A band card). Toshiba's and some HP's go through the keyboard, bit more to it then.

Even it's hard to remove the card from underneath the keyboard, etc, there should be a hot key to turn it off. Look for keys in different color.
