I have a IBM Thinkpad 600E. One day, for no reason, i look away at a friends comp [cuz he was playing cs and he was raping] and i look back at my screen and its totally dim. i thought it went out. but upon closer inspection, its legible, but very dim. after playing with it for a while, i found out if i turned down the brightness all the way down, it would barely show up. but there was a loud buzzing sound at the top right of the LCD and it would get louder everytime i tried to increase the brightness. the buzzing and screen woudl go out once i hit the 1/2 mark on the brightness bar however.
after calling around shops and asking their advice, most said it was a bad inverter card. the card converts the voltage from the battery to the LCD screen. one said it could be the whole LCD. none of them sugessted my thought that the backlight had gone out.
i just ordered a new inverter card overnight from powerorderonline for $75 [ok price] and should be here in the morning tomorrow. i opened up my laptop to prepare for hte transpalnt, i unplugged the LCD and the card came out. but theres a screw on the other side, and i took that out. now, forsome reason, the card is attached to a LCD cable in some wierd way in which i dont know how to seperate them. it looks like they are glued, but im not sure. when the card comes tomorrow, i'll figure it out.
in the meantime, does anyone know anything about this? suggesstions on how to take off hte LCD cable or other misdemeanor options?

my card is #5. the card is attached to #4 part right above the LCD back thingy. dunno how to get it off. the power cable to the LCD came off easily.
thanks!
