Ok, this just started happening. I have it networked wirelessly, cable internet access. When I boot it up, it works fine. After a while the internet connection stops working and i have to reboot to get it to work again.

Ok, I got home Today and it was in standby,. so I turned it back on. No internet. I was able to ping all the computers on the network and the router. I did a ipconfig /all and everything was normal. I did a ipconfig /release and it stated that "There are no devices that can do this right now" or something like that. I dug a little deeper in the adapter settings and there was an option to turn off device to save power, so I turned that off. But its ~STILL~ doing the same thing

any ideas?

What kind of laptop is it? I have the same issue (wired and wireless) with an IBM R40. It maintains all network connection except for internet. The other systems on the network operate perfectly. I have even tried three different firewalls and two different switches. I have installed PCMCIA network cards and updated all drivers. It is making me sick. I'll format and reinstall this weekend.
