Hey,

I have an old Toshiba Tecra S1. It all of a sudden stopped working. When I turn it on, it sometimes can load to Windows but before it loads the desktop, the screen will go black. I can hear that it is still on. Other times, it won't even load anythign on the screen. What could be the problem?

The fan goes on right away and stops after a few seconds. Could it be overheating?
 
not the fan

first check out if it is because of software error. so reintall xp.try.

then check out if hareware error.
