I am looking for a small notebook 10-14 inch screen (wide or standard is fine), but the specs I am looking for I am needing a bit of help and can give some direction on what I am looking for at the same time.
Hard drive 40 gig or more but would REALLY like 7200 RPM
USB side access vs rear access
wifi built in for B & or G
Fast large ram ability (probably gonna put in a gig or more)
Fast enough to run Photoshop and Soundforge (not at same time)
dvd burner nice but dvdrom cdrw burner is ok too...
I don't know a whole lot about notebook makers or models but most I look at don't even have 7200 rpm drives, I was peeking at the brand new alienware sentia 3200 but other than alienware who makes a notebook that will offer a 7200 Rpm drive that will handle photoshop and soundforge (the two main programs I will be using on the go).
Not into gaming, but usb side port is something id like too, just easier than reaching behind unit to plug in.
I don't know alot about processor speeds Pent 4 vs Pent M vs Celeron (was told stay away from Celerons), and in general I would like to stay in the 1500-2500 range money wise.
Just looking for examples and ideas of who makes a decent unit with the features i want that will run the programs I want in the size I want.
Any suggestions greatfully accepted.
