Hey guys, this is my first post, but Ive been here for 2years and know that its the right place to come with my question. I have a Fujitsu Laptop C series 2010. Its about year and half old p4 1.8, 20ghd 256ram, 32mb radeon dvd/cd drive etc. The ac plug entry which is soldered onto the mainboard came loose, therefore I have no power for the system. Everything on the system was working perfectly fine, and sucks that one loose plug and it's collecting dust. I contacted Fujitsu, because, its out of warranty they told me itll cost around 500 for the mainboard(I am assuming its because it includes processor and memory etc on it) which obviousy I dont need. If anyone knows a cost effective way to salvage this machine please tell me. My options are, 1 fix this machine for cheap, 2 sell the individual parts(how much will all these parts get me?) 3. Save these parts for other machines.(would I be able to use this processor on a desktop motherboard?)( use the ram, graphics card, dvd drive(in a new caddy) on another laptop)? 4. my last option is obviously a new laptop. Looking at Dell for their frequent deals, Liking Acer ones, and what do you guys think of smaller computer stores selling their own laptops?
Sorry for having all these questions, Ive dealt with desktops for many years and this is my first laptop.

The soldering method didnt work, the contact area on the board itself was burned (like a small 1mmx1mm burn mark). So my only option of reusing the entire laptop is by replacing the motherboard, if I can find it around 100 or so in working condition.

Thanks
