Laptop Heat Shield

I've got a Dell 600m with the hard drive right under my left palm - for the past few weeks it's been getting warm, to the point where it's uncomfortable. I opened it up today and blew all the dust out, and while that helped a bit now I can't help but notice the warmth.

So I got to thinking - what if I could put something on the inside of the palm rest to block the heat coming from the drive, a heat shield of sorts to insulate the drive? What would y'all recommend, if anything? It's gotta be paper thin, and it's got to be adhered to the underside of the palm rest.

Also, do you think this is a good idea, or is it better to let some heat out of the drive? I don't want it to overheat, but I'm also tired of typing with one sweaty wrist.
