So something happened to my laptop where it said the Boot Manager or MBR was not present blah blah. So I stuck in the Vista Premium DVD and it wouldnt get past the Vista Loading Files part, said to insert the Installation DVD and restart

So I decided to take out the Sata 5400 RPM HDD and put it on my PC to extract the Docs and Pics so they wouldnt be long gone. I am trying to Format it via My Computer and already tried via Admin Tools, a few seconds later it says the disk cannot be formatted

Any idea what this might be? Possibly need a new HDD?

Theres also a 6gb EISA Config partition that I cant delete and theres no right Click options thru Disk Mangement

Alternatively, you could have booted with a live linux CD and tried gparted or some other partition managers to delete the 6GB partition. Good luck with putting the laptop back together. Laptops make me love giant tower cases.
