The hard drive in my uncle's laptop died and now i need a replacment.

The laptop is a Compaq Presario 2100, it has a athlon xp-m proc and a 40GB drive in there now...i am assuming the drive is EIDE or IDE at least beause he bought it in like 2002 plus or minus a year...

I have found this possible hard drive as a replacement, do you guys think ill be able to replace it and make it work with this one?

That'll work - but as long as you have to do all that work, why not get a 80 GB drive? Like this:

80

thanks guys...i asked them and all they do on it is word documents and a few gigs of music...nothing major...they didnt wanna spend the extra 20 bucks lol

That drive would good if thats all you need. My lappy hd went bad and I replaced with 7200 rpm 8 mg lappy hd and wow what a difference
